Laser Genesis is an advanced non-ablative laser treatment that stimulates the skin’s natural processes to diminish the signs of aging and sun damage, and promote a vibrant, healthy-looking complexion. Laser Genesis gently delivers heat to the problem area to address:

How does Laser Genesis work? Micro-pulses of laser energy are gently delivered to the skin so quickly that it doesn’t damage the skin's surface. The energy from the laser stimulates your body’s own natural processes increasing cell turnover. Collagen production is activated, thereby modifying the skin’s structure. This improves the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and unwanted brown spots, and even reduces the size of pores.
Facial redness and rosacea and symptoms of rosacea—like irritation, swelling, pain, and sensitivity are also successfully treated by targeting the excess micro-vessels. The vessels are constricted when the laser energy is absorbed. Although the individual treatment results are subtle, the overall effect of a Laser Genesis treatment series can be quite dramatic. Your skin will look brighter and more youthful, and your pores will look smaller.
Laser Genesis is effective for people of all ages and skin tones. It is much less likely to trigger hyperpigmentation in patients with dark skin than some other laser treatments. Not recommended for women who are pregnant.
What areas can be treated? Laser Genesis is an ideal treatment for the face, neck, and chest. Although, any area on your body with noticeable signs of aging, sun damage, redness, mild wrinkles, or scarring will benefit from Laser Genesis.
What does Laser Genesis feel like? You will experience a gentle warming of your skin’s surface during the procedure. No topical anesthetic is necessary. Patients often describe the treatment as relaxing and therapeutic.
How long are the treatments? Laser Genesis is a quick, no downtime procedure. Each session takes no more than 30 minutes. Since there is no-downtime, you can apply sunscreen and makeup and return to your normal daily activities immediately.
What will my skin look like after? You may notice a slight redness and minor swelling (puffiness) immediately after treatment which will resolve within a few hours. Avoid sun exposure right after the procedure as well as steam rooms, saunas, and heavy exercise.
How many treatments will I need? A single treatment is not a good measure of how effective this treatment will be for you. Improvements are gradual and will be seen over a period of several treatments. We recommend a series of four to six Laser Genesis treatments to achieve an ideal outcome. For months after the last treatment, your results will continue to improve. Depending on the condition of your skin and what you’re looking to address, we highly encouraged you to have a maintenance treatment every year to sustain your results over time.
Are there any possible adverse effects? Sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial tanning may increase the risk to side effects and adverse events. You should avoid sun exposure, tanning beds, and artificial tanning (spray tans, tanning lotions, etc.) for at least 4 weeks before treatment. Hyperpigmentation and hypopigmentation are potential side effects.
How long-lasting do the results last? For six months to a year, you will continue to see the results from your initial series of treatments. Depending upon your skin and the issues you’re facing you could have regular monthly treatments.
Combining treatment with a homecare regimen, sunscreen, and regular facials, faded acne scars and age spots will be long-lasting. To keep other pigmentation issues in check, you may need monthly follow-up visits.
You can extend results from the Laser Genesis treatment by limiting sun exposure and wearing an SPF 50 sunscreen year-round, quitting smoking, exercising regularly, and committing to a home care skincare regimen.

What to expect.
Before your treatment:
- No sun-tanning or self-tanners for 4 weeks prior to treatment.
- Avoid treatments that may irritate the skin for 1-2 weeks prior to treatment (depilatories, harsh chemicals, etc.)
- History of herpes or cold sores may require an anti-viral prescription prior to treatment.
During your treatment:
- Laser Genesis is painless. Some patients describe a warm sensation on the skin surface.
- Some patients find the treatment relaxing and therapeutic.
- Your skin feels invigorated.
After your treatment:
- You may experience some redness and mild swelling for a few hours.
- You may apply makeup and return to your daily activities.
- Avoid sun exposure and use a broad spectrum (UVA/UVB) sunscreen.
- Avoid excessive heat – hot tubs, sauna, etc. for 1-2 days after your appointment.
- Avoid skin irritants a few days post treatment (products containing tretinoin, retinol, benzoyl peroxide, glycolic/salicylic acids, astringents, etc.)
